MSCA-PF2023: The Aragon Institute for Engineering Research (I3A) at the University of Zaragoza is inviting applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) in Genomics of Cardiovascular Disease. The fellowship offers an exciting opportunity to work with the Biomedical Signal Interpretation and Computational Simulation (BSICoS) group at I3A. The selected candidate will contribute to the functional characterization of candidate genes for cardiovascular risk markers, with a specific focus on malignant ventricular arrhythmias.

Job Description:
MSCA-PF2023: Genomics of Cardiovascular Disease at Aragon Institute for Engineering Research (I3A-University of Zaragoza)
The Biomedical Signal Interpretation and Computational Simulation (BSICoS) group at the University of Zaragoza is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join their team for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) in 2023. The successful candidate will contribute to the project focusing on the functional characterization of candidate genes for cardiovascular risk markers, with a specific emphasis on malignant ventricular arrhythmias.
The key responsibilities of the postdoctoral fellow will include:
- Identifying rare variants associated with cardiovascular risk markers.
- Fine-mapping credible sets of common and rare variants to prioritize candidate effector genes.
- Generating transgenic lines of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to perform functional characterization of the prioritized effector genes.
Eligibility/Qualification: To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a PhD in Statistics, Statistics Genetics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field obtained less than 8 years prior to the call deadline (September 13th, 2023).
- Have relevant journal publications and be the main author.
- Possess expertise in programming, computational modeling, and/or signal processing.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in Python, Matlab, or R programming is preferred.
- Candidates must have lived in Spain for less than 12 months prior to the call deadline.
How to Apply: Interested candidates are required to submit a cover letter and a 2-page CV to Dr. Julia Ramírez (Julia.Ramirez@unizar.es) before June 30th, 2023
