Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Candidates must meet the PhD admission requirements at the University of Adelaide, including English language proficiency.
  • Strong background in machine learning, particularly deep reinforcement learning, with experience in electricity markets and power systems engineering.
  • Proven expertise in handling large datasets and time-series analysis, with familiarity in electricity market data.
  • Advanced Python programming skills, preferably with experience in machine learning frameworks, data analysis libraries, and cloud computing.
  • Excellent academic record with either First Class Honours or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

Job Description:

  • Undertake a 4-year PhD program at the University of Adelaide, co-located at the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and OptiGrid office.
  • Develop an innovative AI-powered solution that captures real-world behavior of market participants to improve the accuracy of electricity price forecasting.
  • Collaborate with research specialists at the University of Adelaide and OptiGrid to co-design and execute the research project.
  • Participate in a specialized training program in research translation and communication.
