Research Area

The research will focus on uncovering the epigenetic mechanisms underpinning colon cancer initiation, progression, and therapy resistance through state-of-the-art technologies such as organoid cultures and in vivo mouse models.

Location

This position will be based at the Centre for Molecular Medicine Norway in Oslo, Norway, with collaborative engagements at the Institute of Molecular Medicine Finland in Helsinki, Finland.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD degree in any relevant field of life sciences
  • Documented publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Research experience in transcriptional regulation, cancer biology, functional genomics, and/or epigenomics
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Job Description

The selected candidate will:

  • Establish and design massively parallel reporter assays.
  • Perform genome-wide functional genomics experiments in organoids.
  • Develop and adapt functional epigenomics assays based on Illumina sequencing.
  • Conduct computational analysis and integration of functional genomics datasets.
  • Supervise and teach students and technicians in molecular biology experiments.
  • Write grant applications.
