Novo Protein Design: The Ljubetié group at the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana, Slovenia is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on the design and study of the movement of a de novo protein walker. The successful candidate will work on the CC-WALK project, which aims to create dynamic protein assemblies capable of motion and multiple functional states.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, or related sciences
- Strong motivation, enthusiasm, and curiosity
- Interest in combining computational and wet-lab approaches
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to have experience:
- Programming languages and tools (python, bash, git)
- Structural biology software (Pymol, Chimera, etc.)
- Fluorescence microscopy or Cryo-EM
- Optical tweezers or atomic force microscope measurements
- Protein production and purification in bacteria or mammalian cells
Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will work on the CC-WALK project, which aims to create dynamic protein assemblies capable of motion and multiple functional states. The successful candidate will use protein engineering, computational modeling, and wet-lab experiments to design proteins capable of walking along a designed protein track. The researcher will construct tracks from designed protein fibers along which walkers will be propelled by Brownian motion. The researcher will also design novel large oligomers to serve as anchors using cutting-edge AI protein design methods. Single molecule TIRF combined with optical tweezers will be used to experimentally study the system.
