Eligibility / Qualification
Applicants must have:
- Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or a closely related field
- Experience with Python or Bash scripting
- Knowledge of R programming
- Prior experience with sequencing data processing (desirable)
- Proficiency in English with good written and verbal communication skills
Job Description
The selected PhD student will:
- Phase genomes of several hundred natural polyploid yeast individuals
- Analyze long- and short-read sequencing datasets
- Generate phased genome assemblies
- Characterize structural variations in polyploid genomes
- Study genome evolution and adaptive potential of polyploid organisms
- Work within a collaborative ANR-funded project (PolyPhase)
- Receive co-supervision between Schacherer Lab and Genoscope
