Open Postdoc Position – Environmental: The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work at the intersection of environmental chemistry and data analytics. The position involves developing tools for predicting the fate of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in industrial and manufacturing environments. The ideal start date is between April and September 2024, and the researcher will join an NSF project led by Prof. Damian E. Helbling, collaborating with academic and industry partners.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Experience or genuine interest in knowledge hubs, data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence tools

Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate on an NSF project focusing on PFAS fate prediction. The role includes developing tools for predicting PFAS transformation pathways and sorption potential on various adsorbents. The project emphasizes collaboration, and the researcher will join an established team with diverse expertise. While not primarily focused on generating peer-reviewed publications, opportunities for publication exist for those interested in an academic career.
