Open Science Fellow Positions: The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) is seeking two Open Science Fellows to join the Open Science Strategy team. This unique opportunity allows recent PhD graduates or postdocs to transition from research careers to the non-profit research administration sector, while contributing their fresh perspectives to advance the mission of HHMI.

Chevy Chase, MD (Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD or equivalent in a biomedical research field
- Minimum of 4 years of research lab experience
- Scholarly communication experience (writing primary research articles, peer review reports, or review articles)
- Preferred experience in advocating for open science
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to solve problems and manage multiple competing priorities
- Flexibility and adaptability in project design
Job Description:
Position 1: Communications Project
- Support communication and promotion of open science within the HHMI research community.
- Develop and implement a strategic approach for sharing impactful open science initiatives.
- Write compelling stories linking open science practices to research impact.
Position 2: Peer Review Training Project
- Facilitate the Transparent and Accountable Peer Review (TAP) Training for graduate students and postdocs.
- Support the rollout of the 2025 TAP training program, and collaborate with program participants.
- Review and edit peer review reports for clarity and consistency.
