Opportunities in Computational and Systems Biology : Be part of groundbreaking research that redefines our understanding of human physiology and disease. Join the Yang Lab at Rutgers University and bridge computer science and biology. We are seeking talented and motivated students, postdocs, and staff members to work in a vibrant, collaborative, and innovative environment.
Designation: Various Positions (Students, Postdocs, Staff Members, Lab Manager)
Research Area: Computational and Systems Biology
Location: Department of Genetics & the Human Genetics Institute of New Jersey, Rutgers University, New Jersey
Eligibility/Qualification: We are seeking individuals with the following qualifications:
- Students: Ambitious students with a passion for computational biology or experimental research.
- Postdocs: Highly motivated postdoctoral researchers with expertise in computational biology or experimental techniques.
- Staff Members: Skilled individuals interested in contributing to the research and management of the lab.
- Lab Manager: Experienced professionals capable of overseeing lab activities, coordinating teams, managing supplies, and liaising with vendors.
Job Description: The Yang Lab focuses on blending advanced sequencing techniques with sophisticated computational strategies to study cellular and molecular mediators. We aim to unravel the mysteries of human biology, investigating physiological and pathophysiological responses across tissues and organisms. Our research delves into diseases such as obesity, cancer, and Down Syndrome, along with complex interventions like exercise and immunotherapy. By understanding human physiology at the molecular level, comprehending cellular dynamics, and predicting precise drug targets, we aim to revolutionize therapeutic approaches.
We welcome computational experts proficient in computer science (programming, statistics, machine learning) and computational biology (genomics, epigenomics, statistical genetics). Experimental researchers with expertise in next-generation sequencing, CRISPR-Cas9, cell culture, and tech development are encouraged to apply. Additionally, we are seeking a lab manager responsible for overseeing lab operations, coordinating teams, managing supplies, and vendor liaison.
How to Apply: Postdocs, research scientists, and research assistants (postbacs) should follow these steps:
- Complete the application form.
- Email your CV and list of publications to jkyang@mit.edu.
- Request three past supervisors or collaborators to email their recommendation letters directly to jkyang@mit.edu.
