Job Description:
- Conduct polymerization of biobased monomers, characterize and evaluate resulting products.
- Write up results for publication in scientific journals.
- Contribute to identifying and developing potential research areas and proposals for independent or collaborative projects.
Department:
- The position is within the research groups of Prof Helen Sneddon and Prof Antoine Buchard.
- The Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence (GCCE) specializes in renewable feedstocks, green synthesis, and sustainable technologies.
- The Department of Chemistry is known for its internationally recognized research and holds an Athena SWAN Gold Award.
Role:
- Conduct research under senior colleagues’ supervision.
- Polymerize biobased monomers, characterize resulting products, and publish results.
- Assist in identifying and developing potential research areas and proposals.
Skills, Experience & Qualification:
- First degree in Chemistry or natural sciences.
- PhD in Polymer Chemistry.
- Knowledge and experience of polymerization techniques relevant to biobased monomers.
- Experience in independent and collaborative chemistry research.
- Writing skills for research publication.
- Ability to develop research objectives, projects, and proposals.
