Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is seeking two full-time postdoctoral researchers for the Parker Laboratory to work on translational cancer projects. The research will focus on personalised immune-based and targeted therapies for prostate and breast cancer, with a particular emphasis on targeting bone metastases by increasing cancer cell immunogenicity.

Job Description: The successful candidates will play a key senior role in the laboratory, working closely with Laboratory Head Assoc Prof Belinda Parker, managing projects funded by NBCF and NHMRC. They will be responsible for conducting and overseeing key experiments, such as implementing preclinical models, including cell culture, patient tissue organoid establishment, and mouse experiments. The candidates will also play a critical role in maintaining associated databases and records to facilitate preclinical research projects in the laboratory. They will be exposed to a broad range of techniques, including animal modeling, bone imaging (including multiphoton), patient cell line derivation, histology (including Opal mIHC and spatial technologies), and tumor immunology protocols.
Eligibility/Qualification: The candidate must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline (preferably in Oncology) and have expertise in models of breast and/or prostate cancer. They must have exceptional communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail. Technical precision while carrying out experiments is critical. Additionally, they must be an effective project leader who can dynamically problem solve while maintaining a safe and effective working environment.
