Ph.D. Graduate Student Position in Enzyme Immobilization
There is an open Ph.D. student position focusing on Enzyme Immobilization within the framework of the BIG Collaboration efforts. The role involves researching, developing, and conducting enzyme immobilization experiments, controlling the position, orientation, and reactivity of enzymes at surfaces. Additionally, it includes application-relevant testing to move developed technologies toward real-world utilization. Contributions to high-quality collaborative publications and conference presentations are expected.
Eligibility:
- Acceptance by the Graduate School at NC State University for enrollment in the Textile and Polymer Science Ph.D. program
- Strong academic and experience-based background in (bio-)chemistry, polymer, material, or physical sciences, with associated laboratory and analytical techniques
- Experience with enzyme, protein, or biomolecule immobilization and analysis
- Demonstrate scientific and project management initiative, leadership, and teamwork
- Exhibit excellent oral and written English language communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for the project
- Ready to start the position in January 2024 (for the spring 2024 semester)
