Ph.D. Position in Organic Synthesis: Leipzig University, in collaboration with Saarland University, Germany, is seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. Student with a strong background in organic synthetic chemistry. The position is fully funded within the DFG-funded transregional Collaborative Research Center TRR 386, focusing on exploring photo-chemically induced dynamic nuclear polarization (photo-CIDNP) for potential applications in MRI diagnostics.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent
  • Skills/Qualifications: Highly motivated with a strong background in organic synthetic chemistry, confident in organic synthesis, determination and analysis of physical and spectroscopic data, NMR and UV/Vis spectroscopy, recording experiments, participation in training undergraduate students.
  • Specific Requirements: Comfortable working independently, open-minded, excited to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.

Job Description: The Ph.D. student will work within the TRR 386 on a project aiming to understand and utilize photo-chemically induced dynamic nuclear polarization for MRI diagnostics. The role involves organic synthesis, determination of physical and spectroscopic data, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team. The position comes with full financial support, including access to an interdisciplinary training and qualification program.
