Ph.D. Position in Sustainable Energy Policy: The Spandagos Lab at the University of New Hampshire is inviting applications for a Ph.D. position in Sustainable Energy Policy, starting in Fall 2024. The lab focuses on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of engineering, economics, data science, and social science to address key themes such as equitable energy transitions, energy behaviors, and interdisciplinary models of socio-technical energy systems. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research, addressing issues of environmental and energy justice, and advancing sustainable development goals.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, public policy, behavioral science, or related fields, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated interest in energy and environmental policy, the human dimensions of the energy transition, or energy and environmental justice.
- High independence and a strong work ethic.
- Desire to conduct interdisciplinary work.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in relevant fields.
- Strong quantitative and/or modeling skills, with proficiency in Python, STATA, Matlab, R, or GAMS.
- Interest and/or experience in machine learning, agent-based modeling, energy systems modeling, or econometric methods.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
Job Description:
- Develop unique project components aligned with key themes of the Spandagos Lab, focusing on equitable energy transitions, energy behaviors, and socio-technical energy systems.
- Present research results at scientific conferences and lead publications in high-impact journals.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary, state-of-the-art tools for guiding sustainable energy policy-making.
- Collaborate on research themes such as environmental and energy justice.
Funding: Stipend, health insurance, tuition, and project operating costs will be provided through Teaching and Research Assistantships.
