Eligibility/Qualification
- A completed application form.
- Transcripts from all previous college or university work.
- For international students: TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores if English was not the medium of instruction.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- A strong interest in geosciences; backgrounds in related fields such as physics, chemistry, and mathematics are encouraged.
- GRE scores are not required.
Job Description
- Full-time Ph.D. candidates receive tuition waivers and a competitive stipend.
- Development of an individualized program of study in the first year.
- Completion of a written preliminary exam in Earth Science and oral qualifying exams.
- Submission of at least three manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals, with one being in press or published by the thesis defense.
