We are inviting applications for multiple PhD and Postdoc positions in the research area of “Learning high-dimensional (networked) dynamical systems” at NTU Singapore’s School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a newly formed research group focused on developing efficient algorithms with provable statistical guarantees.

Eligibility/Qualification

PhD Positions

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields
  • Background in Probability/Statistics with interest in statistical learning problems, particularly from a theoretical perspective
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Postdoc Positions

  • PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields
  • Proven research background in statistical learning problems, evidenced by publications
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python)

Job Description

Selected candidates will focus on:

  • Developing efficient algorithms with provable statistical guarantees.
  • Exploring sub-topics related to high-dimensional and networked dynamical systems.
  • Engaging in theoretical research challenges and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Duration:

  • PhD positions typically last 4 years.
  • Postdoc positions are for 2 years.
