PhD and Postdoc Positions: Nikhef is inviting applications for one PhD position and one postdoc position focused on optical sensing and modeling in the framework of gravitational wave research. Research Area

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A Master’s degree in physics, optics, computer science, or a closely related field.
  • Strong interest in computational modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python; knowledge of C or Cython is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in English.

Description

Candidates will be embedded in the Nikhef Gravitational Wave group, engaging in advanced R&D for gravitational-wave detection technologies. This includes the implementation and enhancement of the Finesse software package, vital for advanced instrumentation in the Einstein Telescope project.
