Eligibility/Qualification:
We seek highly motivated candidates with backgrounds in neurosciences, biomedical sciences, psychology, biomedical engineering, rehabilitation, or related fields. Strong communication skills and ability to work in teams are essential. Prior experience in neuroscientific techniques (e.g., animal surgery, electrophysiology, imaging, chemogenetics, behavioral experiments, programming) is desirable.

Job Description:
Successful candidates will conduct research investigating sensory thalamus-motor cortex circuitry using viral tools, in vivo electrophysiology, chemogenetics, calcium imaging, and deep learning techniques. Positions involve active participation in a newly funded NSERC research program focused on dexterous forelimb movements in mice.

About the Project: The lab, led by PI Sandrine Côté, aims to uncover the neural mechanisms governing the coordination and learning of precise movements. This project, supported by a new NSERC grant, will utilize cutting-edge tools such as viral vectors, electrophysiology, chemogenetics, calcium imaging, and deep learning algorithms. The ultimate goal is to translate these insights into novel therapies for conditions involving motor deficits.
