Location

The positions are based at the Andalusian Center for Developmental Biology in Seville, Spain.

Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates should have:

  • Background in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Interest in evolution, gene regulation, and genome organization
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary research environment
  • Motivation, creativity, and enthusiasm for collaborative research

PhD Candidates:

  • Must be eligible to enroll in the Biotechnology Doctoral Program at University Pablo de Olavide.

Postdoctoral Candidates:

  • Should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline such as molecular biology, genomics, or computational biology.

Job Description

The selected researchers will contribute to an ERC-funded project investigating how 3D regulatory genome architecture influences evolutionary changes in developmental programs.

Research activities include:

  • Mapping 3D genome organization using Hi-C and Micro-C
  • Applying single-cell genomics techniques such as:
    • scRNA-seq
    • scATAC-seq
  • Developing deep learning models of gene regulation
  • Using advanced mouse transgenic models
  • Performing comparative genomic analyses across vertebrate species
  • Studying the evolution of sex determination mechanisms

Research Environment
