PhD and Postdoctoral Research Positions: The Hoey Lab at Trinity College Dublin is seeking highly motivated candidates for one PhD and one Postdoctoral research position in the field of Biomedical Engineering. The research will focus on mechano-immunomodulatory strategies for bone fracture repair, aiming to advance our understanding of mechanotransduction and its role in bone regeneration.
PhD and Postdoctoral Research Positions in Biomedical Engineering/Immunology
Designation:
- PhD Researcher
- Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area:
Biomedical Engineering / Immunology
Location:
Trinity College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
Eligibility/Qualification:
For PhD Researcher:
- Degree in Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Immunology, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in bioreactors, biomaterials, and flow cytometry is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
For Postdoctoral Researcher:
- PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Immunology, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in small animal preclinical models of bone repair, histology, flow cytometry, and bioinformatics is advantageous.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
- A strong publication record and/or development of intellectual property would be beneficial.
Job Description:
The project aims to investigate the contribution of local mechanics on macrophage (Mφ) phenotype/function during bone repair. You will explore the mechanotransduction process and its potential to manipulate inflammation and promote repair through innovative mechano-immunomodulatory materials. This position will involve experimental design, data analysis, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team at the Hoey Lab.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit their CVs along with the names and addresses of three referees via email to Prof. David Hoey at dahoey@tcd.ie.
