Eligibility/Qualification: The preferred candidate should have the following qualifications:
- An MSc degree, preferably in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Psychology, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
- Experience in biodiversity field surveys and/or social research methods (e.g., surveys and questionnaires, structured interviews).
- Previous knowledge of statistics and modeling is desirable, with an emphasis on data analysis through R.
- Familiarity with plant functional traits ecology is advantageous.
- Demonstrable proactive and flexible attitude with strong communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and coach students and collaborate with researchers from various disciplines.
- Proficient in written and spoken English; Dutch fluency is advantageous but not mandatory.

As a PhD candidate, you will play a vital role in an interdisciplinary research project aimed at deepening our understanding of how urban nature influences mental health. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and conducting experiments to test hypotheses and analyze data.
- Conducting fieldwork independently when necessary.
- Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to develop new research ideas and proposals.
- Communicating research findings through presentations at national and international conferences and potential scientific publications.
- Supervising BSc or MSc students in their thesis projects and field sampling.
