Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Bioscience Engineering, Visual Design/Data Visualisation, or similar, with a distinction.
- Strong foundation in general data visualisation principles and techniques.
- Proficient programming skills, including Python and D3 (JavaScript).
- Experience in unsupervised (and ideally supervised) machine learning and topological data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of different collaborative cross-domain research teams.
- Proficient in oral and written English; excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and result-driven.
Job Description:
- Conduct advanced data analysis, bioinformatics, and data visualisation to understand eco-evolutionary dynamics within natural landscapes.
- Utilize visual analytics, topological data analysis, and unsupervised machine learning to investigate temporal and spatial patterns across diverse data types (environmental, Daphnia genomes, Daphnia microbiomes, bacterioplankton metagenomes, etc.).
- Explore and understand the underlying complexity of ecological systems.
- Work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
