Research Area
The research will focus on the overall efficiency and performance of tandem and multi-junction solar cells through the development and printing of effective recombination junctions. The project is part of a national initiative, SolarLab, aimed at enhancing solar research in the Netherlands.
Location
Amsterdam Science Park, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification
- Candidates must hold an MSc degree in a natural science or engineering discipline or possess an equivalent qualification.
- A strong background in physics, chemistry, materials science, or engineering is required.
- Individuals from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Description
The selected candidate will engage in cutting-edge research that investigates:
- Laminating two separately processed sub-cells into a functioning tandem.
- Printing a recombination junction directly onto the top contact layer of the bottom sub-cell and subsequently processing the top cell.
- Testing new materials for recombination junctions in halide perovskite tandems, including various nanoparticles or highly doped poly-Si thin films.
The Nanoscale Solar Cells Group at AMOLF is at the forefront of this research initiative. The environment values diversity and offers various professional development opportunities through workshops and collaborations.
