Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Molecular Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Proficient in English with good communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, curious, and open-minded individual.
- Keen interest in host-microbe and microbe-microbe interactions.
- Prior experience in microbiology research and bioinformatics is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Statistical and data analysis skills.
Job Description: As a PhD candidate, you will:
- Develop new methods for selectively studying and isolating nitrogen-cycling micro-organisms.
- Investigate the physiology and interactions of these micro-organisms in biofilters and fish gills.
- Contribute to the understanding of host-microbe interactions in recirculating aquaculture systems.
- Work on the development of sustainable aquaculture practices.
- Manage a teaching load of up to 10% of your working time.
