Description
This PhD position involves conducting research on the microbial composition of milk and skin samples from breastfeeding mothers both before and after developing mastitis. The candidate will utilize both culture-dependent and culture-independent microbiological techniques to analyze samples, focusing on the inflammatory status and the microbial community changes during mastitis episodes. The research will involve bioinformatics analyses and correlations with collected questionnaire data, addressing gaps in the current understanding of mastitis among lactating women in Norway.
