PhD Candidate Position- ICCT: The International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) is offering a three-year PhD Candidate position focusing on counter-terrorism in the transatlantic cooperation space. This position is part of the MSCA EU-GLOCTER Doctoral Network, which aims to provide world-class training to doctoral candidates in EU ‘glocal’ counter-terrorism and to generate scientific excellence and technological innovation in this field.

PhD Candidate Position under the MSCA EU-GLOCTER Doctoral Network (EU Glocal Counter-Terrorism)

Study Area: Counter-terrorism, Transatlantic Cooperation

Location: The Hague

Commitment: 38 hours per week

Starting Date: 1 September 2024


Eligibility/Qualification: We are seeking candidates with a strong interest in counter-terrorism studies, particularly in areas such as AI and terrorism, gaming and terrorism, CT in the online sphere, far-right violent extremism, jihadi terrorism, terrorism financing, terrorism sanctions, law enforcement cooperation, and intelligence cooperation. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field and demonstrate proficiency in English.


Description: The selected candidate will conduct research on topics related to counter-terrorism, with a focus on cooperation or comparison between the US and the EU. This PhD position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in an internationally renowned institute and to collaborate with leading experts in the field.
