Research Area: Lysosomal Proteases and their Role in Human Diseases
Location: Centro Andaluz de Biologia Molecular y Medicina Regenerativa (CABIMER), Seville
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, etc.).
- Passion for Science and a strong desire to pursue a scientific career.
- Average qualification of 8/10 to be eligible for PhD programs (PhD grants from the Spanish Ministry of Science (FPU) and the University of Seville).
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences is preferred.
- Previous experience in cell culture and molecular biology is advantageous.
- Ability to work in English.
Job Description:
- Investigate how lysosomal proteases contribute to various human diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative, and autoimmune diseases.
- Explore cellular signals controlling their expression and subcellular localization.
- Examine cellular processes regulated by these proteases when located outside the lysosomal compartment under pathological conditions.
- Understand their role in the regulation of gene expression and its impact on disease onset and progression.
