Eligibility/Qualification
Required Qualifications:
- Masterโs degree in biology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, ecology, evolution, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR).
- Basic knowledge of handling sequence data from RNA-seq or other NGS-based approaches.
- Experience with data analysis in Python/R.
- Experience with experimental work on plants or eukaryotic organisms.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with high-performance cluster environments.
- Organism-level experiments (e.g., common garden experiments).
- Interest in 3D-genomics.
Language Requirement: Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
Description
The PhD candidate will work on the “HotSpot: Stress-induced mutations in evolution” project, investigating how environmental stress biases the genomic mutation landscape and its implications for evolution. The candidate will generate omics (RNA-seq, PacBio CiFi) and phenotypic data, conducting integrative analyses to enhance understanding of plant responses to stress.
