Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Physics, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, or similar
  • Strong background in information theory, deep learning, and mathematics
  • Significant coursework in machine learning, pattern recognition, statistics, and programming
  • Proficiency with software tools such as PyTorch/TensorFlow
  • Experience with mathematical modeling for neural networks, spatio-temporal medical image data analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration is advantageous
  • Fluent in English

Job Description

  • Conduct research on designing estimators for information theoretic measures in deep learning
  • Focus on understanding and improving the generalization properties of deep learning algorithms
  • Engage in collaborative research with the Integreat centre and other interdisciplinary teams
  • Participate in teaching and other academic duties (25% of time)
  • Preferred start date: January 2025
