Eligibility Criteria

  • Degree Requirement: A completed Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Data Science, or comparable discipline) prior to the start date.
  • Technical Skills: Strong programming and data processing skills in C, C++, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Knowledge Base: Foundational knowledge of machine learning, digital signal processing, and statistical data analysis.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Academic Admission: Must apply for and obtain doctoral study rights at the University of Oulu Graduate School (UniOGS).
  • Preferred Assets: Prior experience in physiological/biomedical signal processing, computer vision, research publications, or open-source software projects.

Scholarship & Position Description

The doctoral position is part of the Research Council of Finland-funded project CARDIAB: Towards Cardiometabolic Intelligence—Decoding Heart Dynamics for AI-Augmented Diabetes Monitoring and Human Sustainable Wellbeing, led by Dr. Xiaoting Wu.
