Research Area
The research focuses on small mammal population dynamics, particularly in relation to climate change and land use effects within the boreal biome. The project will utilize novel methods, including automatic recorders for enhanced data collection.

Eligibility/Qualification
- A minimum master’s degree or equivalent in biology, ecology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, or related areas.
- Strong academic background (average grade B or better).
- Experience with field data sampling and statistical analyses using programming languages like R.
- Ability to model population dynamics using various models.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral).
- For non-English speakers, documentation of English competence is required.
Description
The PhD research will encompass multiple elements:
- Development of innovative methods for detecting small mammals year-round.
- Investigation of population dynamics influenced by climatic conditions.
- Collaboration with ongoing projects in Norway and Germany.
- Access to extensive datasets for comprehensive research.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Associate Professor Magne Neby and will actively contribute to the research environment at INN, collaborating with partners from national parks and research institutes.
