Location: Maastricht University, Brightlands-Chemelot Campus in Geleen (Netherlands)

Eligibility/Qualification:
The ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields with expertise in organic and polymer synthesis. Experience with polycondensation, material characterization, and a strong interest in exploring structure-property relationships of thermosets are advantageous. Fluency in scientific English is required, and knowledge of Dutch is not mandatory.

Job Description:
The selected PhD candidate will work within the Sustainable Polymer Synthesis group under the guidance of Associate Professor Katrien Bernaerts to develop biobased monomers and recyclable thermosets. This involves close collaboration with academic and industrial partners within the SusInkCoat consortium, leading to the upscaling of samples for testing by industrial partners. The role also includes staying current on literature in the field, generating research ideas, and fostering interactions with partners.
