PhD in Biogenesis of NK Cells: The University of Oslo is offering a full-time PhD position within the “Innate Lymphocyte Group” led by Professor Marit Inngjerdingen at the Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Clinical Medicine. This three-year position focuses on the development of NK-cell derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) for cancer therapy against solid tumors, with a strong emphasis on basic scientific research and innovative applications.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A five-year master’s degree or equivalent studies recognized by the faculty.
  • MSc degree in immunology, cell biology, or molecular biology.
  • Experience in extracellular vesicles, fluorescence microscopy, and/or CRISPR editing is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Highly motivated and structured candidates with excellent laboratory and collaborative skills are sought.

Job Description

The main responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:

  • Developing NK-cell derived EVs as therapeutic agents for cancer.
  • Conducting in vitro culture of primary human cells and cell lines.
  • Utilizing organ-on-chip models, molecular biology techniques, and diverse immunological assays.
  • Engaging in advanced flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and CRISPR editing/screens.
  • Collaborating with national and international research partners and being prepared to travel.
