Research Area
The PhD project aims to address significant scientific and technological challenges in replicating the sensory and functional qualities of natural seafood. The goal includes establishing continuous cell lines, developing algae-derived media, and scaling up cultivation processes.

Eligibility/Qualification
- Degree: MSc in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Tissue Engineering, Cell Biology, or a relevant field.
- Experience: Hands-on experience with animal cell culture, familiarity with laboratory methods (qPCR, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry), and data analysis using R is advantageous.
- Academic Record: A grade average of B or better is required.
Description
The selected candidate will collaborate on EU-funded projects, FEASTS and SEANERGIES, working towards innovative solutions in sustainable food production. Continuous development of a cell line and a cell-specific algae-derived medium is required.
