Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Neuroscience, Biology, Biomedical engineering, Life sciences, or a related field
- Experience with electrophysiological recording or neuroimaging would be beneficial
- Familiarity with statistics and programming experience in Python are advantageous
- Strong intention to be a part of an international team with interdisciplinary questions
Job Description:
The PhD student will conduct research on patterns of hyperactivity using electrophysiological methods, focusing on aging-related synaptic changes and memory deficits in hippocampal-cortical circuits in mice. The role involves investigation of cell-type specific projections within hippocampal-cortical circuits and characterization of synaptic changes within long-range versus local cortical circuits across aging. The candidate will gain experience in various electrophysiological techniques, molecular cell identification, and neuroimaging methods.
