Location:

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Biology, or a related field.
  • Experience with scientific computing (Python, R, Julia, etc.).
  • Interest in biology and evolution is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A strong drive to learn, a growth mindset, and openness to interdisciplinary collaboration.

Job Description:

  • Develop a general computational framework for evolutionary computation applied to biodesign.
  • Focus on algorithms that create novel functionality, improvement capacity, increasing complexity, and knowledge generation.
  • Collaborate with researchers from Ghent University and Bristol University.
  • Contribute to a representative wet lab case in synthetic biology.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary research combining biology and computation.
