Eligibility/Qualification

General Admission Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Alternatively, at least 240 credits with 60 from the second cycle.

Specific Admission Requirements:

  • At least 60 second-cycle credits relevant to the research topic.
  • MSc in Engineering in relevant fields (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.).

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong mathematical skills and programming knowledge.
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Other Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in robot perception or related fields.
  • Experience with ROS/ROS2 and PyTorch is preferred.

Description

The PhD project, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Eren E. Aksoy, will involve developing advanced AI methods for multi-modal sensor fusion, optimizing complex perception tasks such as object detection and semantic segmentation. The successful candidate will participate in research projects, seminars, and conferences, and will engage in a collaborative research environment within the Robotics and Semantic Systems division.
