PhD in Data-Driven Chemistry: Aalborg University is seeking a highly motivated individual for a PhD stipend position within the Danish Pioneer Center for Accelerating P2X Materials Discovery (CAPeX). The research focuses on the development of a chemistry-aware digital twin for power systems, utilizing data-driven models from a P2X system. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with DTU Energy and SUNERGY at Utrecht University, Netherlands. Location: Aalborg, Denmark

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong background in Power Electronics is advantageous.
  • Excellent English language skills (both oral and written).
  • Motivation for research activities, innovation, and creativity.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Expertise in multi-physics modeling, electrochemical engineering, meso-scale modeling, or electrolyzer technology is a plus.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools and programming languages such as ANSYS, MATLAB, PLECS, etc., is desirable.

Job Description:

  • Contribute to the research program “Power Electronic Control Reliability and System Optimization.”
  • Develop a chemistry-aware digital twin for power systems using data-driven models from a P2X system.
  • Address the impact of various design variables and manufacturing process parameters on the end-system life-cycle performance.
  • Collaborate with international partners and co-supervisors from DTU Energy and SUNERGY at Utrecht University.
  • Interface efficiently with atomic-scale based digital twins.
  • Present research findings at conferences and contribute to publications.
