Eligibility/Qualification:

  • General Requirement:
  • Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Environmental Sciences, or Biostatistics.
  • Equivalent education or experience (240 credits with at least 60 at advanced level).
  • Specific Requirement:
  • Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish course English B/English 6.
  • Skills Required:
  • Knowledge of epidemiological and statistical methods.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Stata).
  • Interest in aging, dementia, and environmental risk factors.

Job Description:

The PhD candidate will conduct independent research focusing on the association between environmental exposures (e.g., PM₂.₅, NO₂, environmental noise) and dementia risk using data from the National E-infrastructure for Aging Research (NEAR). Duties include:

  • Harmonizing and managing large datasets.
  • Performing geospatial exposure assessments.
  • Applying advanced statistical models to assess risk associations.
  • Investigating moderators and mediators of the environmental-dementia link.
  • Publishing research findings and participating in scientific presentations.
