Description
This PhD project aims to address inefficiencies in the food industry’s cleaning processes, which account for approximately 30% of a site’s water and energy usage. The research will involve:
- Developing high-quality optical fouling detection methods.
- Correlating water quality parameters using existing sensors.
- Creating decision-support tools for improved cleaning and water management.
- Employing ultraviolet (UV) fluorescence imaging to monitor food fouling removal during Clean-in-Place (CIP) processes.
