Eligibility/Qualification

  • Completed Master’s degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences
  • Specialization in Machine Dynamics, Manufacturing Technology, Structural Dynamics, or Materials and Fatigue
  • Average to advanced programming skills (Matlab, Python)
  • Experience with data acquisition systems (Artemis) and vibration testing
  • Knowledge of simulation tools (Ansys, Abaqus) is beneficial
  • Proficient in English and German

Description

The PhD candidate will advance the understanding of sawing processes by identifying key parameters that affect the wear and operating life of cutting tools. Responsibilities include:

  • Combining experimental measurements with simulation techniques
  • Developing a new concept to integrate monitoring and predictive maintenance
  • Collaborating with an international team and contributing to state-of-the-art prototype design
