Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control engineering, or related fields.
  • Background knowledge in numerical methods, especially in contact and solid mechanics.
  • High and low-level programming experience (C/C++ and MATLAB/Python).
  • Familiarity with machine learning is a plus.
  • Interest in mechatronics and robotics is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (C1 level or higher).

Description

The PhD candidate will investigate mechanical contact information processing to enhance robotic skin technologies, focusing on the development of a mechanical contact processing model that estimates contact information from sensors in soft elastomer materials. Responsibilities include designing experimental setups, contributing to numerical model development, and researching mechanical contact processing models.
