✅ Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong motivation for interdisciplinary research combining biology, physics, and computation.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Experience in one or more relevant areas (e.g., microscopy, programming, molecular biology) is an advantage.

🧾 Job Description:
As a PhD candidate in the Schueder Lab, you will:

  • Conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of molecular imaging and nanotechnology.
  • Design and test innovative DNA-based fluorescent probes for high-resolution microscopy.
  • Develop and use advanced imaging techniques such as super-resolution microscopy (e.g., DNA-PAINT, FAS-PAINT).
  • Analyze complex spatial omics data using computational methods.
  • Apply your tools to fields such as microbiology and microbiome research.

You will have access to EPFL’s world-class facilities and work in an international, collaborative environment.
