Research Area

The research focuses on pioneering organotypic slice cultures to test nanomaterials for integration with neural circuits. Key activities will include:

  1. Assessing bio-tolerability in organ slices and monitoring tissue reactivity.
  2. Testing the efficacy of magnetic sensors in conjunction with live imaging and electrophysiology.
  3. Developing minimally invasive neural stimulation interfaces.
  4. Creating a bench-top system to facilitate neural communication.

Eligibility/Qualification

Candidates should possess a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) or equivalent in a relevant field such as Neuroscience, Biotechnology, Biology, or Physiology. A background in electrophysiology, microscopy, and live imaging is highly preferred.

Job Description

The PhD candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and conducting experiments under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
  • Documenting and analyzing experimental results accurately.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and participating in scientific meetings and outreach activities.

How to Apply

Candidates must submit the following materials to be considered for the PhD program:

  • Academic transcripts, including course lists and grades.
  • A copy of the M.Sc. thesis.
  • Two letters of recommendation (one from the M.Sc. supervisor, one from a senior professor).
  • Any additional documentation supporting the candidacy.
