Scholarship Description
These PhD positions are based within the Quantum Technology division of the Microtechnology and Nanoscience (MC-2) department. Selected candidates will work on projects that explore the encoding of quantum information in harmonic oscillators and the development of quantum thermal machines using superconducting circuits. Candidates will engage in experimental research, device fabrication, and quantum measurements, and collaborate with leading theoretical and experimental scientists, benefiting from Chalmers’ robust research ecosystem and extensive laboratory resources.
Eligibility
Applicants should hold or be expecting to complete an MSc degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, or Applied Physics by June 30, 2025. Strong interest in two or more of the following areas is required:
- Quantum processors
- Quantum information science
- Quantum optics
- Microwave engineering
- Nanofabrication
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in English and a drive for scientific discovery. Experience in experimental condensed-matter physics, AMO physics, or Josephson circuit modeling is advantageous.
