Research Area:
The PhD student will focus on the following areas:
- Creation of an up-to-date overview of published Scientific Machine Learning (SciML) work in medicine.
- Utilization of machine learning techniques to enhance ECG-analysis and tackle long-standing problems.
- Development of AI models for synthetic ECGs incorporating electrophysiological knowledge.
- Construction of robust deep learning models for clinically relevant tasks leveraging ECG-domain expertise.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Must possess a Master’s degree in applied mathematics, computer science, AI, signal analysis, or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, and perseverance towards complex projects.
- Proficiency in scientific programming (e.g., Python, Julia, or R).
- Preferred experience with ECGs or other medical signal analysis.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of researchers at the Julius Center, working closely with experts from the cardiology department. Responsibilities include:
