Eligibility/Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction or Industrial Design, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with AI techniques (e.g., machine learning, deep learning).
  • Knowledge in data-driven approaches, system architecture, and prototyping.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies and academic publishing.
  • Proficiency in English (C1 level).

Description

The PhD project focuses on designing an AI-powered toolkit that analyzes collocated collaboration through voice conversation, spatial positioning, and contextual factors in real-time. By employing depth cameras, location tracking, and various interactive tools, this research aims to gather multimodal data which will help in constructing an intelligent representation of collaborative environments.

Candidates will work under the supervision of Professor Steven Houben within a stimulating interdisciplinary research group dedicated to addressing societal challenges. This position not only promises to enhance academic and technical skills but also paves the way for future careers in academia or industry research.
