PhD in Vasculture-on-Chip Models: Eindhoven University of Technology is inviting applications for a PhD position focused on developing innovative vasculature-on-chip models to enhance nanobubble-based ultrasound imaging techniques for cancer diagnostics.
PhD in Vasculture-on-Chip Models for Improving Nanobubble-Enhanced Ultrasound Imaging
Designation
PhD Candidate
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Research Area | Nanobubble-enhanced ultrasound imaging |
| Location | Eindhoven, Netherlands |
| Eligibility/Qualification | Background in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, experience in microfluidics, microfabrication, organ-on-chip, and cell culture is preferred. Candidates should have a strong interest in applied research. |
Job Description
The PhD candidate will design, realize, and experimentally characterize in-vitro vasculature-on-chip models. The project aims to tackle challenges in assessing tumor microvasculature through advanced microfluidic systems, leveraging nanobubble technology to enhance imaging techniques. This will require the creation of physiologically relevant vascular networks and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop microfluidic vasculature models with controllable geometry and size
- Create endothelialized lumens and integrate tumor cells within a relevant extracellular matrix
- Conduct live imaging and characterization of model biological properties
- Collaborate with team members on ultrasound imaging experiments
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit a complete application online, including:
- A cover letter detailing motivation and qualifications
- Curriculum vitae with a list of publications
- Contact information for three references
Note: Applications sent via email or post will not be processed.
