The Cytergents project aims to revolutionize detergent design and enhance the understanding of detergent-lipid-protein interactions for efficient extraction and stabilization of functional membrane proteins. Job Description:
As a PhD candidate, you will play a pivotal role in the Cytergents project. You will be responsible for synthesizing hydrophobic moieties of detergents using advanced C-C bond formation methods in Montpellier. Subsequently, you will conjugate these hydrophobic moieties onto glycosyl donors at Avignon University. Here, you will study the colloidal properties of the final detergents. Collaborate closely with a post-doctoral fellow and undertake biochemical validation on various types of proteins, including those of fundamental and pharmaceutical significance.
