Job Description
Project Title: Machine Learning and High-Throughput Screening-Accelerated Discovery of Photocatalytic Polymeric Vesicles for Artificial Photosynthesis
This project lies at the intersection of various scientific disciplines and aims to develop and optimize bioinspired catalytic polymeric vesicles for solar fuel production and sustainable chemical synthesis. A major emphasis of this role involves light-driven CO2 conversion. The position is funded within the national consortium (AIA2025-163492-C54) which integrates computational modeling, machine learning, AI-guided optimization, high-throughput screening, and automation, providing a highly interdisciplinary training environment.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should apply directly through the official ICIQ Application Portal and submit the following required documents (all in PDF format):
- Full Curriculum Vitae (CV): Detailing academic background, research/work experience, publications, conferences, grants, awards, and relevant merits.
- Personal Statement: (Max two DIN A4 pages). This must outline your academic background, research experience, and career goals. You should explicitly mention why you want to join Dr. Carla Casadevall’s group and how your interests align with ICIQ’s PhD training.
- Official Transcripts: Scanned copies of your BSc and MSc academic records (including ranges of marks and minimum passing marks). If the MSc is ongoing, include details of currently enrolled subjects and credits. Note: Transcripts not issued in Catalan, Spanish, or English require a certified English translation.
- Reference Contacts: The names and contact details of two University professors or relevant individuals who can assess your research potential (they will only be contacted if you are shortlisted).
