PhD Opportunity: Eye Tracking: The Department of Educational Sciences at Utrecht University is offering a PhD position for a talented and enthusiastic researcher to contribute to the project “How is it going? Eye-tracking dashboards for teachers to improve student diagnosis and support”. This multidisciplinary project aims to investigate the effectiveness of visualizing eye-tracking data in higher education to enhance student support.

Eligibility/Qualification:
Ideal candidates should:

  • Hold or soon complete a (Research) Master’s degree in educational science, cognitive psychology, educational psychology, behavioural science, artificial intelligence, or a related field
  • Possess excellent methodological and analytical skills, with experience in collecting and analyzing complex data
  • Demonstrate interest and proficiency in technology and programming, with preferable experience in eye-tracking research or dashboard development
  • Have the ability to design and conduct practical studies with students and teachers
  • Possess strong communication skills in English, with proficiency in Dutch as a plus
  • Exhibit proactive, enthusiastic, and collaborative qualities, along with project management skills

Description:
As a PhD candidate, you will conduct research within the project focusing on the development and evaluation of eye-tracking dashboards to aid instructors in gauging student comprehension and planning course content effectively. Working closely with the supervision team, you will contribute to the development of innovative educational technologies, write academic publications, and present research findings at conferences. Additionally, you may engage in teaching or supervising students.
